NEW TRAINING PROGRAM - INTRODUCING MY NEW COACH, JACK FLECKNEY.

Something new was needed. I was starting to doubt my bodies capabilities. Some negative comments had started to work their way in.

Thanks to Donna Norman at Bespoke Injury Management, I was introduced to Jack Fleckney and we started working together this week.

The physical tests have proved that I have more potential than I realised. Now Jack has a clear idea of where I am physically and the real work can begin [gulp].

More than that though, it's been a vital boost.

Working with Jack has given me new motivation and reaffirmed that I can achieve new goals and be competitive in my sport.

Those negative thoughts have been wiped from my mind and I'm so excited about the future.

So who is Jack Fleckney?

HIs T-shirt says 'Don't use machines, be one'. He's an ex-marine and CrossFit champion.

Jack first heard of CrossFit whilst on an operational deployment to Afghanistan whilst working with American Navy Seals in 2012. Beforehand he had always followed basic training routines and conducted military physical training during his time in the Royal Marines.

Returning home from operations he became a CrossFit competitor and trainer. His natural ability to coach is evident as soon as you start training with him. And because he's experienced it all first hand he has a true understanding of what you're about to endure.

Jack competes in European CrossFit competitions and is aspiring to take on the best in the European Championships - enough said.

Jack has realised that by applying fitness to people's schedules, it has the ability to improve other facets of their lives and he wants to take this to the next level by opening his own training facility, where he can help more people achieve their own goals.

I'm still absorbing what we've worked on so far. But what I do know is that it's tough, it hurts, I'm going to have to spend a lot of time with my foam roller and having sports massages at Bespoke Injury Management but most importantly, I love it.

I think I've found a new interest and who knows, maybe I'll even have a go at competing in a Cross Fit competition?

For now though I'll be recording everything I do, here in this blog. So I can reflect on my progress and you can see where I'm heading!
