The benefits of CrossFit...

Monday and today's sessions have caught up with me tonight and I've finished foam rolling and climbed on to the sofa to write this blog because today has been a real benchmark day.

I so wish I'd started CrossFit years ago. But the point is I've started now and the benefits are already coming.

Today's benchmark moment was running on a treadmill. I've not run since before breaking my right femur (for the second time) in 2012.

Jack took me for my WOD today and as soon as we walked in to the gym he put me on the treadmill, warmed me up and then had me running. I had no time to over think it. I was running. (It's a small thing to most but a huge thing for me).

Of course it needs some work. My body must have been wondering what what happening it's been so long!

The key is that I have an amazing coach. Who has not let any of my many injuries get in the way of making me a better athlete.

Today, the running, that was something we spoke about the very first time we trained together. Jack told me then I'd be running again.

I know I did it. But he has made all the difference in helping me get here. Thank you Jack!

He has this astonishing ability to be able to see what needs improving and on top of that he knows how to improve it. Making him probably the best coach I've ever worked with.

He is driven, knowledgable and has a thirst and unblinking goal to truly see others improve their lives through his coaching and CrossFit.

Sounds cliche? But I'm proof that he can and that it works. Its actually hard to control my excitement. It's given me a huge boost, in my sport and my life.

I'm just so bloody chuffed.

So, back to the training....

I'm on a de-loading week. So I'm working on speed and movement patterns and it's been great.

Jack's been training with me the past two days. So I get a constant and impressive reminder of what I can achieve if I keep going with CrossFit. He's a machine. I'm a machine in progress.

I've loved what I've learnt, such as a new squat pattern and to snatch (OMG this is something I never thought I could do - my technique needs work - but I loved it, oh and I've found muscles in my arms I never knew existed.

And I ran!

The conditioning has included 'chief' and rowing intervals.

Jack continues to inspire me and even though I'm tired now I'm totally looking forward to the next WOD.

Life is good!

Sweet dreams.
